FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is piracy.watch?

piracy.watch is a demand-intelligence platform for movie studios and TV networks. It tracks unauthorised demand for film and TV - by title, market and genre - and maps it against where each title is legally available, so rights holders can size unmet demand, time release windows and focus enforcement.

What is unauthorised demand intelligence?

It is the measurement of how much an audience wants to watch a title outside legal channels, and where. piracy.watch turns worldwide demand for content into per-title, per-market intelligence - the audience a studio is not currently earning from.

Who is it for?

Movie studios, TV networks, streamers and distributors - specifically their content-protection, distribution and licensing, and strategy and finance teams.

How is the data collected?

We aggregate millions of demand signals from multiple data brokers, across 195 markets and refreshed daily, resolved to releases and matched to a film and TV catalogue and reported as aggregates.

What is unmet demand?

Titles that are watched heavily in a market where they are not legally available. That is an addressable, unserved audience - a licensing and windowing opportunity, sized in numbers.

How current and broad is the data?

Demand is tracked continuously across roughly 550,000 titles and 195 markets. Figures shown in the public demo and on the marketing site are illustrative sample data on a real catalogue; customer reporting runs on live data for your own titles.

How do we get started?
